Terri McCormick to Likely Enter WI-08 GOP Primary
Terri McCormick, who lost a Republican primary for the 8th District Congressional seat in 2006, has become the sixth Republican to enter the race to challenge U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen.
McCormick, who represented the 57th District in the State Assembly for six years, announced her intentions in a note to supporters Wednesday.
She has scheduled announcement receptions for Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the former Rock Gardens Club/Club 1951 at 1951 Bond St., Green Bay, and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fox Banquets, 111 E. Kimball St. in Appleton.
She joins a crowded Republic field to challenge Kagen, D-Appleton, a physician who is serving his second term.
McCormick lost the 2006 GOP primary to former Assembly Speaker John Gard, who was defeated that fall and in 2008 by Kagen.
Other announced Republicans are Howard physician Marc Trager; Reid Ribble, 53, a Kaukauna roofing contractor; Marc Savard, 47, an organic farmer and Door County Board member; Andy Williams, 41, a lawyer and Brown County Board member; and Kerry Thomas, 44, of Sayner in Vilas County.
Okay, given everything I've heard, been told, and seen about this woman in the past, I'm going to keep all post-news story comments to a minimum.
Frankly, I just hope she can get all of her old campaign staffers off the Kagen payroll by next summer.
And to highlight she's still not fuming over what happened in 2006, I'll highlight this video which McCormick herself made recently someone was nice enough to forward to me (along with the note sent by her supporters). The video gets about an 8.5 out of 10 on the creepy meter.
Where was WisconsinEye when you needed it to highlight the oddity that is this woman?
