Weekend Quick Hits

Lawton Accepts Bader's Apology

So reports WLUK out of Green Bay.  This probably ends it for those two players.  All other players, who knows?

Weston High Schoolers Push DUI Petition on Wisconsin Legislators

Smart premise: Get a DUI while in office, resign.  Sad part - They got just one taker (so far).

Sadder part - They couldn't even get their local State Senator; State Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker of Weston, to sign on.

(BTW, I have to agree with the Wausau Daily Herald.  I don't see "Cousin Bob" with anything stronger than a Diet Coke in his hand at the family reunions.)

The PackerGeeks Nail It

Great column by the Weekly Standard's Stephan Hayes and his brother Andrew -- who write the Packers blog "PackerGeeks" -- on what is probably the most honest time line of the "Favre Saga" you won't get from the sycophants at ESPN and Fox Sports today.

GO PACK!

The NY-23 Earthquake

This pretty much guarantees (barring any sort of "McCormick Effect" of angry supporters holding grudges like there was in WI-08 in 2006) of the election of Hoffman over Owens.  All this whole thing shows is that New York State needs to institute some form of a primary system for special elections; not allow county party chairmen to appoint the candidate as occurred here.

Losers - The NY State Elections System, Dede Scozzafava, Newt Gingrich, and the NRSC which is anointing candidates

Winners - Doug Hoffman, Tea Party Conservatives, and Erick Erickson who's been the biggest voice against what he calls 'The  Establishment GOP' online.

Speaking of the NRSC

Considering who's involved in their coming war against the blog "Red State"...No Comment.

Dollar's Decline Worrying Europe

I think Sarkozy's rant about the U.S. manipulating its currency like the Chinese is a bit much.  No one at the Fed's that good.

Michelle Obama's Halloween Costume

My guess - Eartha Kitt.
