Random Thoughts in a Hotel Room Full of Napping Family
- The more I read "Whallah!" on my RSS feed, the more I realize that blog would be really, really, really, really boring without the existence of conservatives. It's like every unoriginal thought the Port Side of the Cheddarsphere has had at a Drinking Liberally over the past five years rolled into one...with posts no doubt done on the taxpayer dime of Milwaukee Co.
- Seriously commenters, I laugh every time one of you comments about me saying something about Customs Law and procedures. Have any of you done it professionally? I doubt it. And please, can we let the lawyering to the likes of Althouse, Soglin, Foley, McAdams, and Esenberg for the time being? In the future, one hopes I can add my name to their ranks. George Mason Law, Class of 2013 here I hopefully come.
- That being said, I'd honestly love to have a comment debate on trade and customs issues. Come on people, my knowledge of the subject can't be scaring off all of you, right?
- Speaking of future attorneys in the ranks of the Cheddarsphere, we welcome Brad Vogel of "Letters in Bottles" next year. Brad's a stand up guy who I've known since we were both kids; our families have known each other for generations.
- Kurt's graduation went well. If it is at all possible, I wish I could show the speech given by an Army Major receiving his Masters in Intelligence Sciences who represented the graduates. He spoke on the coming transition many of the graduates will now go through as they go from being student to being soldiers. It truly was a statement of those young men and women who go to these DoD-connected schools and the dedication they put into their work and the professions they are about to embark on.
- According to TechCrunch, new technology has made our work lives more productive. On the flip-side, it has also given us longer working hours since mobile technology has made things like the BlackBerry and a laptop more of a leash, than a work aide.
- This is quite possibly the most fun, most original wedding entrance I've ever seen. That being said, I don't ever think it will be a standard at future weddings in my family.
- Finally, "Chuck, Season 3." At teaser from the San Diego Comic-Con.
