WH: Don’t Drag us into Bloomberg’s Marathon FUBAR

The race is now canceled according to the AP, but this is too hilarious nonetheless.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Friday that any decision about the New York City marathon should be left to local officials.

President Obama is focused on mobilizing “an unprecedented federal response” to Hurricane Sandy, Carney told reporters on Air Force One.

We engage with state and local officials and rely on them to tell us what their needs are,” Carney said. “Decisions at the state and local level are made appropriately by state and local officials.”

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been criticized for vowing to continue with the annual New York City marathon just days after a devastating storm killed dozens and crippled the city.

Just remember folks, that Bloomberg endorsed Obama just this week, with the media claiming he was the wisest, non-partisan politican in the country.

Whatever.  Bloomberg’s an arrogant billionaire / egotistical jackass who thinks he is the true King of New York.  Why the hell he thought “normalcy” could be returned so soon with a marathon race with half the city still without power.

How exactly was Bloomberg going to justify going into Staten Island for a race — the NYC Marathon traditionally hits all five boroughs — when much of the place is still a disaster area?  He’s an over-glorified idiot, Bloomberg is.  No wonder he backed Obama just because of “Global Warming.”
