Korean Flight 007 — 27 Years Ago

Disclosure: Authored by Kurt

Today mark’s the 27th anniversary of Korean Flight 007 from New York to Seoul, South Korea in which was shot down by Russian Jet’s over the Japan Sea. Nevertheless there is no closure to many of the families and government agencies that still look for answers.

Many people to this day has reason to believe this incident is a conspiracy and I agree with those folks. After this disaster the Russian government continued to make excuses for the shooting down of this aircraft for several months. In final consideration, the truth will probably never been known and the international community will probably not do anything. Unlike Iran Air Flight 655, the United States has made a final agreement and settlement to the families of that aircraft that was mistaken shot down in 1988.
While I was still in diapers when this tragedy occurred, there is some reason to think that Congressmen Larry McDonald, who was on Korean flight 007 may have been a future candidate to become President of the United States…of which we will never know.

“One of the greatest tragedies of the Cold War was the shoot-down of the Korean Airlines flight KAL-007 by the Armed Forces of what was then the Soviet Union on September 1, 1983.… The KAL-007 tragedy was one of the most tense incidences of the entire Cold War. However, now that relations between our two nations have improved substantially, I believe that it is time to resolve the mysteries surrounding this event.”
